With a Bachelor in Social Work and a Master’s in Psychology, and over 10 years of experience in psychotherapy, Venus brings both academic depth and extensive clinical experience to her work. Her background across hospital, community, and specialized settings has shaped a thoughtful, grounded, and compassionate approach to supporting young adults.

What can she help with?

Venus works with kids, teens, and adults who feel overwhelmed by their emotions, disconnected from their bodies, or unsure of who they are becoming. Many of the people she supports experience eating disorders, disordered eating, body image concerns, and emotional dysregulation in the context of life stress, identity exploration, and questions of belonging and self-worth.

Therapeutic Approach

In therapy, Venus offers a steady and compassionate space where difficult emotions can be named, understood, and held without judgment. Venus views eating and emotional struggles as meaningful adaptations to pain, pressure, and unmet needs rather than problems to be “fixed.” Together with her clients, Venus focuses on building a safer, more trusting relationship with food, emotions, and the self, while developing practical tools to navigate everyday life.

Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as DBT, CBT, FBT, and Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Venus balances structure with curiosity and care. Her experience across varied levels of care allows her to attune to complexity, manage risk thoughtfully, and deeply respect the courage it takes to seek support.

At the heart of Venus’ work is the belief that healing grows through connection, compassion, and a strengthening sense of identity. Venus is committed to creating an affirming, culturally responsive, and stigma-free therapeutic space where young adults can move toward greater stability, self-understanding, and self-trust.

As a Professional Art Therapist (DTATI), she combines her love of creativity with a deep commitment to supporting others in their growth, healing, and self-discovery. She believes in the transformative power of creative expression and is dedicated to finding innovative, compassionate ways to help individuals navigate challenges, build resilience, and connect more deeply with themselves. Her work is grounded in the belief that healing can take many forms, and that creativity can be a powerful tool for insight, empowerment, and change.

What can she help with? As an Art Therapist, Raquel works with ages 12+ and specializes in supporting clients navigating Neurodivergent experiences (e.g., ADHD, Autism, Learning Disabilities etc.). She helps clients build insight, resilience, and healthier connections through creative expression.

What is Art Therapy? Art Therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses art-making and creative expression to help individuals explore their experiences, process emotions, and share their stories, especially when words feel difficult to find. Through a combination of creative exploration and conversation, the art-making process becomes a meaningful way to gain insight, deepen self-understanding, and explore one’s inner world.

Rather than relying solely on direct questions, an Art Therapist may draw attention to themes, symbolism, colours, patterns, and the energy within the artwork to spark reflection and discussion. No artistic skill, training, or experience is required, just a willingness to show up and engage in the process.

She believes that healing begins in a safe and supportive space, where people feel truly heard, validated, and understood.
